Since 2007 there has been a strong focus in Norway on the health and environmental challenges posed by the use of amines for CO2 capture.
In this section you will find the latest cost estimates of the project.
CO2 emissions from capturing, transporting and storing the CO2 from the Longship CCS Project are calculated. Calculations show that these are in the range of 5-10% of the CO2 stored.
Two other CCS-projects have been planned but not completed in Norway: CCS at the gas-fired power plants at Kårstø and Mongstad.
